The difference between VR and augmented reality is that where VR is a fully immersive experience, augmented reality always has one step in reality. The user of augmented reality sees just that, an augmented visual reality instead of a completely separate one. The current application for VR is primarily gaming. However, there are plenty of other uses, think realtors showing off the interior of future houses. But VR doesn’t just develop itself like the content management systems for websites like WordPress or Drupal.
They have to be coded. Currently, two primary game engines are used to develop VR games: Unity and Unreal Engine. The engines either use C#, C/C++, or even Java (more for non-gaming applications). Unless you are fluent in one of these languages, hiring the best VR development companies will have to be a requirement.
